The Kia Tigers ended the week with an escape from back-to-back losses.

Lee Bum-ho-led KIA won the 12th game of the 2024 Shinhan SOL Bank KBO League against SSG Landers 13-4 on Thursday at Gwangju-KIA Champions Field, snapping a three-game losing streak against SSG dating back to last month's 13th (literal). They improved to 52 wins, 2 ties and 35 losses (.598) on the season.

While starter James Nail allowed three runs on seven hits and four walks with three strikeouts in 5⅔ innings, the bullpen of Lee Joon-young (one run in ⅓ innings), Jang Hyun-sik (one run in ⅓ innings), Kim Dae-yu (one run in ⅔ innings), and Kim Do-hyun (one run in ⅔ innings) combined to allow one run in 3⅓ innings of relief.

At the plate, leadoff hitter Socrates Brito had three hits, including two doubles, while No. 2 hitter Chan-ho Park went 2-for-4 with two doubles, two RBIs, three runs scored and two walks. Kim Do-young also did his part, going 2-for-4 with two doubles, two RBI, one walk and two runs scored.

Kia got off to a shaky start, scoring one run in each of the first and second innings, but bounced back with three runs in the bottom of the third inning.
